Pakistan Super 8 qualification scenarios: भारतासाठी टी२० विश्वचषक २०२४ मधील (T20 World Cup 2024) आतापर्यंतचा प्रवास वाईट स्वप्नाप्रमाणे राहिला आहे. पाकिस्तानने अमेरिका आणि भारताविरुद्ध सामने खेळले असून अद्याप त्यांना विजयाचे खाते उघडता आलेले नाही. त्यामुळे आता पाकिस्तानसाठी सुपर-८ फेरीतील आपले स्थान टिकवून ठेवणे आव्हानात्मक बनले आहे.
भारताविरुद्धच्या (IND vs PAK) टी२० विश्वचषक २०२४ मधील आपल्या दुसऱ्या सामन्यात पाकिस्तानला ६ धावांनी पराभवाला सामोरे जावे लागले. पावसाने प्रभावित झालेल्या या सामन्यात बाबर आझमने नाणेफेक जिंकून प्रथम गोलंदाजी करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला. भारताने १९ षटकांत ११९ धावा केल्या. प्रत्युत्तरात पाकिस्तानी संघ २० षटकांत ७ विकेट्स गमावून केवळ ११३ धावा करू शकला. या विजयासह गुणतालिकेत भारताचे २ गुण वाढले असून अ गटात ४ गुणांसह भारताने पहिल्या स्थानावर कब्जा केला आहे. दुसरीकडे, सलग दुसऱ्या पराभवानंतर बाबर आझमचा संघ चौथ्या स्थानावर घसरला आहे.
अमेरिका २ सामन्यांत ४ गुणांसह दुसऱ्या स्थानावर आहे. नेट रन रेटमध्ये ते भारताच्या खाली आहेत. कॅनडा तिसऱ्या क्रमांकावर असून त्यांनी २ सामन्यात १ विजय मिळाला आहे. त्याचबरोबर आयर्लंडला दोन्ही सामन्यांत पराभवाला सामोरे जावे लागले आहे. अ गटात आयर्लंड तळाच्या पाचव्या क्रमांकावर आहे.
पाकिस्तानसाठी कशी आहेत सुपर-८ फेरीची समीकरणे?
पाकिस्तानच्या सलग दोन पराभवानंतर बाबर आझमचा संघ पहिल्या फेरीतच स्पर्धेतून बाहेर पडू शकतो. मात्र त्यांना अ गटात अजून २ सामने खेळायचे आहेत. पाकिस्तानी संघ ११ जून रोजी कॅनडाचा सामना करेल. त्यानंतर १६ जूनला आयर्लंडशी सामना होणार आहे. बाबरच्या संघाने दोन्ही सामने जिंकल्यास त्यांच्या सुपर-८ फेरी गाठण्याच्या आशा पल्लवित होऊ शकतात. परंतु पाकिस्तानसाठी अडचण अशी आहे की त्यांना इतर संघांच्या निकालावर अवलंबून राहावे लागेल. पाकिस्तानला उर्वरित दोन सामने अमेरिका किंवा भारत हरेल अशी प्रार्थना करावी लागेल. याशिवाय कॅनडाला दोन्ही सामने गमावावे लागतील आणि आयर्लंडने एकापेक्षा जास्त सामने जिंकू नये. असे झाल्यास पाकिस्तानसाठी सुपर-८ फेरीचा रस्ता सोपा बनू शकतो.
एका विजयानंतर काय होईल?
जर पाकिस्तानी संघ फक्त एकच सामना जिंकला तर त्यांचे फक्त २ गुण होतील. गटातील दोन संघांनी आधीच ४-४ गुण मिळवले आहेत. जर पाकिस्तान संघ फक्त १ सामना जिंकला तर तो स्पर्धेतून थेट बाहेर पडेल. पाकिस्तानसाठी हा मार्ग सोपा नाही, पण याआधीही त्यांच्यासोबत असे घडले आहे आणि ते अंतिम फेरीतही पोहोचले आहेत.
