India Coach Rahul Dravid :- 29 जून 2024, हा दिवस भारतीय क्रिकेटसाठी अविस्मरणीय राहिला. या दिवशी भारताने टी20 विश्वचषक 2024 च्या अंतिम सामन्यात दक्षिण आफ्रिकेला 7 धावांनी पराभूत करत 17 वर्षांनंतर विश्वचषक जिंकण्याचा पराक्रम केला. या विश्वविजयासह भारतीय कर्णधार रोहित शर्मा (Rohit Sharma) आणि स्टार क्रिकेटपटू विराट कोहली (Virat Kohli) यांचा टी20 क्रिकेटमधील प्रवास संपला. या दोन दिग्गजांबरोबर भारतीय क्रिकेटमधील अतिशय महत्त्वाच्या व्यक्तीचाही क्रिकेटमधील प्रवास संपला. या विश्वचषक विजयासह भारताची ‘द वॉल’, मुख्य प्रशिक्षक राहुल द्रविड (Rahul Dravid) यांच्या क्रिकेट प्रवासावरही पूर्णविराम लागला आहे.
राहुल द्रविड यांची 2021 साली भारतीय संघाच्या प्रशिक्षकपदी निवड झाली होती. आधुनिक क्रिकेट कोचिंगच्या प्रचंड दबावाखालीही त्यांनी सन्मान आणि शालीनतेपासून यशापर्यंतच्या प्रवासाचे उदाहरण दिले. द्रविड कधीही भावना व्यक्त न करणारे व्यक्ती आहेत. पण टी20 विश्वचषक अंतिम सामन्याचा ‘प्लेअर ऑफ द मॅच’ विराट कोहलीने त्यांच्याकडे ट्रॉफी देताच, त्यांचे वेगळे रूप जगाला पाहायला मिळाले. द्रविड हातात ट्रॉफी घेऊन उड्या मारु लागले आणि जोरजोराने ओऱडून जल्लोष साजरा करू लागले. त्यांचा असा जल्लोष पाहून जणू काही द्रविड त्यांच्या सर्व आंतरिक भावना व्यक्त करताना दिसले.

राहुल द्रविडच्या आधी भारताने रवी शास्त्री यांच्या प्रशिक्षकपदाखाली चांगली कामगिरी केली होती, त्यामुळे संघाला पुढे नेण्याची मोठी जबाबदारी द्रविड यांच्यावर होती. प्रशिक्षक म्हणून द्रविड यांना अनेक चढ-उतार पाहावे लागले. मात्र अखेर संघाला टी20 विश्वचषक जिंकून देत द्रविड यांनी प्रशिक्षकपदाच्या कारकिर्दीचा स्वप्नवत असा शेवट केला.
