IPL 2024 Final|आयपीएल 2024 च्या दुसऱ्या क्वालिफायर सामन्यात सनरायझर्स हैदराबाद व राजस्थान रॉयल्स (SRHvRR) समोरासमोर आलेले. अंतिम सामन्याचे तिकीट मिळवण्यासाठी झालेल्या या सामन्यात सनरायझर्स हैदराबादने राजस्थानवर एकतर्फी विजय मिळवला. या विजयानंतर सनरायझर्सचा कर्णधार पॅट कमिन्स (Pat Cummins) याने मोठी प्रतिक्रिया दिली आहे.
या सामन्यात प्रथम फलंदाजी करताना सनरायझर्स हैदराबादने 175 धावा काढल्या होत्या. त्यावेळी अनेकांनी राजस्थान हा सामना जिंकेल असे वक्तव्य केले. मात्र, हैदराबादच्या गोलंदाजांपुढे राजस्थानच्या फलंदाजांनी नांग्या टाकल्या व त्यांचा डाव139 धावांवर संपला. सामान्यनंतर झालेल्या प्रेझेंटेशनमध्ये बोलताना हैदराबादचा कर्णधार कमिन्स म्हणाला,
“सगळेच जण संपूर्ण हंगामात जबरदस्त खेळले आहेत. आम्ही ठरवले होते यंदा आपण फायनलमध्ये असायला हवे आणि तसेच झाले. आम्हालाही माहित आहे फलंदाजी आमची ताकद आहे. मात्र, गोलंदाजी भुवी, नटराजन आणि जयदेव यांनी माझे काम सोपे केले. आज अभिषेक व शहाबाज यांचे कौतुक करावेच लागेल. इथे 170 चांगली धावसंख्या होती. दोन बळी झटपट गेल्यास ते दबावात येणार याची कल्पना आम्हाला आलेली. आम्ही जवळपास 60-70 जण यासाठी एकाच वेळी तन-मन अर्पण करून मेहनत घेतोय. आता फक्त एक दिवस बाकी आहे.”
सध्या कमिन्स जगातील सर्वोत्तम कर्णधार म्हणून ओळखला जातो. ऑस्ट्रेलियाने 2023 मध्ये त्याच्याच नेतृत्वात जागतिक कसोटी चॅम्पियनशिप व वनडे विश्वचषक जिंकला होता. यासोबतच प्रतिष्ठेची ऍशेस आपल्याकडे राखण्यात ऑस्ट्रेलियाला यश आले होते. त्यानंतर आता आयपीएल जिंकून कर्णधार म्हणून आपल्या शिरपेचात आणखी एक मानाचा तुरा रोवण्याची संधी त्याच्याकडे असेल.
