टोकियो ऑलिंपिकमध्ये (Tokyo Olympics) भारताला कांस्यपदक जिंकून देणारा कुस्तीपटू बजरंग पुनिया (Bajrang Punia) याच्यावर राष्ट्रीय डोपिंग विरोधी संघटनेने (नाडा) (Nada) कारवाई केली आहे. मागील अनेक दिवसांपासून सातत्याने चर्चेत असलेल्या बजरंग याने डोप टेस्टसाठी आपले सॅम्पल न दिल्याने अस्थायी स्वरूपात त्याच्यावर ही कारवाई करण्यात आली आहे. त्यानंतर त्याने एक व्हिडिओ प्रसारित करत आपली बाजू सांगितली.
मार्च महिन्याच्या 10 तारखेला सोनीपत येथे आंतरराष्ट्रीय स्पर्धेसाठी ट्रायल आयोजित केल्या होत्या. त्यावेळी बजरंग याला ट्रायलमध्ये पराभूत व्हावे लागलेले. त्याला रोहित कुमार याने 65 किलोग्राम फ्रीस्टाइल वजनी गटाच्या उपांत्य फेरीत 9-1 अशा फरकाने पराभूत केलेले. त्याआधी झालेल्या सामन्यात देखील रविंदर याच्याविरुद्ध त्याला मोठ्या मुश्किलीने विजय मिळाला होता. उपांत्य फेरीत पराभूत झाल्यानंतर बजरंग तातडीने राष्ट्रीय क्रीडा प्राधिकरण (साई) येथे रवाना झाला होता. तिथे नाडाने त्याची डोप टेस्ट घेण्याचा प्रयत्न केला असता त्याने नकार दिला. त्यानंतर नाडाने ही कारवाई केली.
आपली बाजू मांडताना बजरंग याने व्हिडिओ पोस्ट करत म्हटले,
“मी आत्तापर्यंत कधीही अशा प्रकारे चाचणीसाठी नकार दिलेला नाही. जे अधिकारी चाचणी घेण्यासाठी आले होते त्यांनी एक्सपायरी किट आणली होती. ती बदलण्याची विनंती मी केलेली. मात्र, त्यांनी तसे केले नाही व माझ्यावर कारवाई केली. याबाबत माझे वकील कायदेशीर बाबी पूर्ण करतील.”
बजरंग पुनिया मागील दोन वर्षांपासून सातत्याने चर्चेत दिसून येतो. भारतीय कुस्ती महासंघाचे माजी अध्यक्ष ब्रिजभूषण सिंग यांच्या विरोधात काही कुस्तीपटूंनी आंदोलन सुरू केले होते. त्यामध्ये बजरंग हा आघाडीवर होता.
