कोलगन येथे झालेल्या या सामन्यात स्विझरलँड संघाने सुरुवातीपासूनच आक्रमक खेळ दाखवला. क्वाड्वो दुहा (Kwadwo Duah) याने बाराव्या मिनिटाला गोल करत संघाला आघाडी मिळवून दिली. यानंतर हंगेरी संघाकडून गोल करण्याचे प्रयत्न झाले मात्र त्यांना यश आले नाही. स्विझर्लंड संघाने पुन्हा एकदा आक्रमण रचत 45 व्या मिनिटाला आपली आघाडी दुप्पट केली. मिचेल एबीशर (Michel Aebischer) याने बॉक्स बाहेरून मारलेल्या किकवर संघाला ही आघाडी मिळाली.
दुसऱ्या हाफमध्ये हंगेरी संघाचा अधिक नियोजनबद्ध खेळ पाहायला मिळाला. वार्गा याने 66 व्या मिनिटाला हेडर द्वारे गोल करत संघाचे खाते यानंतर स्विझर्लंडने आक्रमणाला आणखी धार दिली. मात्र, हंगेरीच्या गोलकीपरने त्यांचे प्रयत्न हाणून पाडले. अखेर दुसऱ्या हाफच्या इंजुरी टाईममध्ये ब्रिल एंबोलो याने गोल करत स्विझर्लंड संघाचा विजय निश्चित केला. एक गोल आणि एक असिस्ट करणाऱ्या एबीशर याला सामनावीर पुरस्कार दिला गेला.
