भारतासाठी आयसीसी स्पर्धांच्या बाद फेरी सामन्यांमध्ये नेहमी ‘कर्दनकाळ’ ठरलेले पंच रिचर्ड केटलबर्ग यांना आयसीसीने पंच म्हणून निवडलेले नाही. आयसीसीने उपांत्य फेरीच्या दोन्ही सामन्यांसाठी पंचांची (Umpires For Semifinal) घोषणा केली आहे. भारत आणि इंग्लंड यांच्यात होणाऱ्या उपांत्य फेरीच्या सामन्यात मैदानावरील पंच न्यूझीलंडचा ख्रिस गॅफनी आणि ऑस्ट्रेलियाचा रॉडनी टकर हेयांची निवड करण्यात आली आहे. या सामन्यात जोएल विल्सन टीव्ही पंच असतील, तर पॉल रीफेल चौथे पंच असतील. न्यूझीलंडचे जेफ्री क्रो सामनाधिकारीची भूमिका निभावतील.

त्याचबरोबर दक्षिण आफ्रिका आणि अफगाणिस्तान यांच्यात होणाऱ्या पहिल्या उपांत्य फेरीत इंग्लंडचे रिचर्ड इलिंगवर्थ आणि भारताचे नितीन मेनन हे मैदानी पंच म्हणून काम पाहतील. रिचर्ड केटलबोरो हे टीव्ही पंच, तर एहसान रझा हे चौथे पंच असतील. या सामन्यासाठी सामनाधिकारी म्हणून वेस्ट इंडिजच्या रिची रिचर्डसनची नियुक्ती करण्यात आली आहे.
