BCCI Starting Process For New Head Coach Of Team India After T20 World Cup
भारतीय क्रिकेट संघ जून महिन्यात अमेरिका आणि वेस्ट इंडिज येथे टी20 विश्वचषकात (ICC T20 World Cup 2024) सहभागी होईल. या विश्वचषकासाठी भारतीय संघाचे नेतृत्व रोहित शर्मा (Rohit Sharma) करणार आहे. त्याचवेळी भारतीय क्रिकेट संघाचे विद्यमान प्रशिक्षक राहुल द्रविड (Rahul Dravid) यांची ही प्रशिक्षक म्हणून शेवटची स्पर्धा ठरू शकते. भारतीय क्रिकेट नियमक मंडळ म्हणजेच बीसीसीआयने (BCCI) भारतीय संघाच्या नवीन मुख्य प्रशिक्षकपदासाठी जाहिरात काढली असून, जुलै महिन्यात भारतीय संघाला नवीन प्रशिक्षक मिळण्याची शक्यता आहे. रवी शास्त्री यांनी 2020 मध्ये आपल्या पदाचा राजीनामा दिल्यानंतर राहुल द्रविड यांच्याकडे भारतीय संघाची धुरा आली होती. आपल्या जवळपास पाच वर्षाच्या कार्यकाळात द्रविड यांना भारतीय संघाला आयसीसी ट्रॉफी जिंकून देण्यात अपयश आले. असे असले तरी त्यांच्या मार्गदर्शनात भारतीय संघाने दोनदा वर्ल्ड टेस्ट चॅम्पियनशिप व वनडे विश्वचषकाच्या अंतिम फेरीत धडक मारली होती. मागील वर्षी भारतात झालेल्या वनडे विश्वचषकानंतर त्यांचा कार्यकाळ समाप्त झाला होता. मात्र, खेळाडू आणि बोर्ड यांच्या हट्टामुळे जून महिन्यापर्यंत त्यांना वाढीव मुदत मिळाली. द्रविड यांच्या मार्गदर्शनात बसलेली घडी विस्कटू नये म्हणून हा निर्णय घेण्यात आलेला.
भारतीय संघ आगामी टी20 विश्वचषक जिंकण्यात अपयशी ठरल्यास द्रविड यांची गच्छंती अटळ आहे. बीसीसीआयचे सचिव जय शहा यांनी म्हटले की,
“राहुल द्रविड यांचा मुख्य प्रशिक्षक पदाचा काळ जून महिन्यात संपत आहे. त्यानंतर नव्या प्रशिक्षकाच्या निवडीची प्रक्रिया सुरू होईल. मात्र, द्रविड हे देखील पुन्हा या पदासाठी अर्ज करू शकतात.”
ते पुढे म्हणाले,
“पुढील प्रशिक्षक भारतीय असतील की विदेशी असेल याबाबत काहीही प्रतिक्रिया देता येणार नाही. याबाबतचे सर्व निर्णय सल्लागार समिती घेईल.”
भारतीय संघ मागील अकरा वर्षांपासून कोणतीही आयसीसी स्पर्धा जिंकू शकलेला नाही. डंकन फ्लेचर यांच्या मार्गदर्शनात भारताने अखेरच्या वेळी 2013 मध्ये चॅम्पियन ट्रॉफी नावे केली होती. त्यानंतर रवी शास्त्री, अनिल कुंबळे व राहुल द्रविड यांनी भारतीय संघाचे मुख्य प्रशिक्षक म्हणून काम केले. परंतु, त्यांना अपेक्षित यश लाभले नाही.
