SA vs BAN, ICC Rule : सोमवारी (१० जून) दक्षिण आफ्रिका विरुद्ध बांगलादेश (South Africa vs Bangladesh) संघात न्यूयॉर्कच्या मैदानावर झालेला टी20 विश्वचषक (T20 World Cup 2024) सामना पंचांच्या एका निर्णयामुळे चर्चेत आहे. फलंदाजीसाठी अवघड असलेल्या या सामन्यात प्रथम फलंदाजी करताना दक्षिण आफ्रिका संघाने 6 बाद 113 धावा केल्या होत्या. प्रत्युत्तरात बांगलादेशला 7 विकेट्सच्या नुकसानावर 109 धावाच करता आल्या आणि दक्षिण आफ्रिकेने 4 धावांनी सामना जिंकला. मात्र बांगलादेशच्या डावादरम्यान फलंदाज महमुदुल्लाहने एक चौकार मारला होता, जी बांगलादेशसाठी विजयी धाव ठरू शकली असती. परंतु आयसीसीच्या नियमामुळे हा चौकार ग्राह्य धरला गेला नाही. आता, बांगलादेशच्या पराभवात आयसीसीच्या नियमांचा मोठा वाटा असल्याची चर्चा सोशल मीडियावर सुरू आहे.

आयसीसीच्या नियमानुसार पंचांनी फलंदाजाला बाद दिल्यास डेड बॉलचा निर्णय दिला जातो. डीआरएसमध्ये फलंदाज नाबाद राहिला, तरी त्याला त्या चेंडूवर केलेल्या धावा मिळत नाहीत. आयसीसीच्या क्रिकेट नियमांचा 23.1 (a)(iii) कायदा सांगतो की, ‘जर रिव्ह्यू मागितल्यानंतर बादचा निर्णय नाबादमध्ये बदलला गेला, तर मूळ निर्णयाच्या वेळी चेंडू डेड मानला जाईल.’ याच नियमामुळे महमुदुल्लाहचा चौकार ग्राह्य धरला गेला नाही.
