ऍंटिगा येथे झालेला इंग्लंड विरुद्ध नामिबिया हा सामना पावसामुळे प्रत्येकी 10 षटकांचा करण्यात आला. फिल सॉल्ट व जोस बटलर ही सलामी जोडी स्वस्तात बाद झाल्यामुळे इंग्लंडवर दडपण आले होते. जॉनी बेअरस्टोने 18 चेंडूवर 31 व हॅरी ब्रूकने 20 चेंडूंमध्ये नाबाद 47 धावा करत संघाला मजबूत बनवले. त्यांना अली व लिविंगस्टोन यांनी साथ दिली. यामुळे इंग्लंड संघ 122 पर्यंत मजल मारू शकला.
या धावांचा पाठलाग करताना नामीबिया संघ आक्रमक सुरुवात करू शकला नाही. लिंगेन व डावीन यांनी संथ फलंदाजी केल्यानंतर अनुभवी डेव्हिड विझे याने 12 चेंडूंमध्ये 27 धावा केल्या. मात्र, अखेरीस नामिबिया संघाला 41 धावांनी पराभव पत्करावा लागला.
दुसऱ्या सामन्यात ऑस्ट्रेलिया संघासमोर स्कॉटलंडचे आव्हान होते. सुपर 8 मध्ये प्रवेश करण्यासाठी स्कॉटलंड संघाला हा सामना जिंकावा लागणार होता. सलामीवीर जॉर्ज मन्सी याने 35 धावा करत चांगली सुरुवात केली. अष्टपैलू ब्रेंडन मॅकम्युलन याने अवघ्या 34 चेंडूमध्ये 60 धावा करत ऑस्ट्रेलियाच्या अनुभवी गोलंदाजांचा समाचार घेतला. कर्णधार बेरिंग्टन याने नाबाद 42 धावा करत आपल्या संघाला 180 अशी मोठी मजल मारून दिली.
या मोठ्या धावसंख्येचा पाठलाग करताना ऑस्ट्रेलियाने आपले पहिले तीन फलंदाज 9 व्या षटकात अवघ्या 60 धावांवर गमावले होते. मात्र, ट्रेविस हेड याने 49 चेंडूत 68 धावा काढल्या. अष्टपैलू मार्कस स्टॉयनिस याने 29 चेंडूत 59 धावांचा तडाखा दिला. टीम डेव्हिडने नाबाद 24 धावा करत ऑस्ट्रेलियाला दोन चेंडू राखून विजय मिळवून दिला. ऑस्ट्रेलियाच्या या विजयामुळे इंग्लंडने आरामात सुपर 8 फेरी गाठली.
