USA Beat Pakistan In T20 World Cup 2024|टी20 विश्वचषक 2024 मधील 11 वा सामना यजमान युएसए आणि पाकिस्तान (USAvPAK) असा खेळला गेला. ग्रॅंड प्रायरे स्टेडियम (Grand Praire Stadium) डल्लास (Dallas) येथे झालेल्या या सामन्यात युएसए क्रिकेट संघाने (USA Cricket Team) ने इतिहास रचला. मोनांक पटेल (Monak Patel) याच्या नेतृत्वातील युएसएने पाकिस्तानचा सुपर ओव्हरमध्ये (Super Over) पराभव केला. हा पाकिस्तानचा टी20 इतिहासातील सर्वात लाजिरवाणा पराभव मानला जात आहे.
डल्लास येथे झालेल्या या सामन्यात पाकिस्तान संघाला प्रथम फलंदाजीची संधी मिळाली. मात्र, सौरभ नेत्रावळकर (Saurabh Netratvalkar) व इतर गोलंदाजांनी पाकिस्तानला चांगले जखडून ठेवले. पाकिस्तानने आपले दोन्ही सलामीवीर फक्त 12 धावांमध्ये गमावले. फखर जमान‌ही फारशी चांगली कामगिरी करू शकला नाही. कर्णधार बाबर आझमने पहिल्या 22 चेंडूंमध्ये केवळ 7 धावा काढल्या होत्या. त्यानंतर शादाब खान याने काही मोठे फटके खेळत धावगती वाढवली. मात्र, तो देखील 40 धावा करून तंबूत परतला. बाबरनेही 43 चेंडूत 44 धावा केल्या. अखेर शाहीन आफ्रिदीने नाबाद 23 धावा करत संघाला 159 पर्यंत नेले. युएसएसाठी फिरकीपटू केन्जिगे याने 3 तर सौरभ नेत्रावळकर याने 2 बळी टिपले.
या धावांचा पाठलाग करताना अमेरिकेला स्टीव्हन टेलर व मोनांक पटेल यांनी 40 धावांची सलामी दिली. टेलर बाद झाल्यावर मोनांकने गौससोबत डाव पुढे नेला. दोघांनी 70 धावांची भागीदारी केली. गौसने 35 व मोनांक पटेल याने (Monank Patel Fifty) 50 धावा केल्या. पटेल बाद झाला तेव्हा युएसए संघाला 47 चेंडूंमध्ये 49 धावांची गरज होती. मात्र, त्यानंतर पाकिस्तानच्या गोलंदाजांनी चांगली कामगिरी करत जोन्स व नितीश कुमार यांना रोखले. पंप अखेरच्या षटकात 15 धावांची आवश्यकता असताना आधी जोन्स याने एक षटकार व अखेरचा चेंडूवर नितीश कुमार यांनी चौकार ठोकत सामना सुपर ओव्हरमध्ये नेला.
सुपर ओव्हरमध्ये पाकिस्तानकडून अनुभवी मोहम्मद आमिर याने अत्यंत स्वैर गोलंदाजी केली. त्याने चार वाईड चेंडू टाकले. त्यामुळे हरमीत व जोन्स यांनी 18 धावा वसूल केल्या. या धावांचा पाठलाग करण्यासाठी उतरलेल्या इफ्तिखार अहमद याला तिसऱ्या चेंडूवर बाद करत सौरभ नेत्रावळकर याने संघाला मोठे यश मिळवून दिले. अखेरच्या चेंडूवर पुन्हा एकदा सुपर ओव्हर होण्यासाठी सहा धावांची गरज असताना नेत्रावळकर याने फक्त एक धाव देत संघाला अविस्मरणीय विजय मिळवून दिला. अर्धशतक करणारा कर्णधार मोनांक पटेल सामनावीर ठरला.
