एकमेव पुरुष कुस्तीगीर असलेला अमन सेहरावत 57 किलोग्राम फ्रीस्टाइल वजनी गटात खेळेल. अनुभवी महिला कुस्तीपटू विनेश फोगट (Vinesh Phogat) 50 किलोग्राम फ्रीस्टाइल, निशा दहिया 68 किलोग्राम फ्रीस्टाइल, अंशू मलिक 57 किलोग्राम फ्रीस्टाइल, रितिका हुडा 76 किलोग्राम फ्रीस्टाइल व युवा अंतिम पंघल (Antim Panghal) 53 किलोग्राम फ्रीस्टाइल वजनी गटात खेळताना दिसणार आहे.
टोक्यो ऑलिंपिक 2020 मध्ये पदक जिंकणारे बजरंग पुनिया (Bajrang Punia) व रवी दहिया (Ravi Dahiya) यावेळी पात्र ठरू शकले नाहीत. भारताने आतापर्यंत ऑलिंपिकमध्ये कुस्ती खेळात 7 पदके जिंकली आहेत. भारताला ऑलिंपिक इतिहासात मिळालेले पहिले वैयक्तिक पदक खाशाबा जाधव (Khashaba Jadhav) यांनी 1952 हेलसिंकी ऑलिंपिकमध्ये जिंकून दिले होते. त्यानंतर सुशील कुमार याने 2008 बीजिंग ऑलिंपिकमध्ये कांस्य व 2012 लंडन ऑलिंपिकमध्ये रौप्य पदक जिंकलेले. याव्यतिरिक्त योगेश्वर दत्त याने 2012 मध्येच कांस्यपदक आपल्या नावे केलेले. तर ऑलिंपिकमध्ये भारताला महिला कुस्तीत एकमेव पदक साक्षी मलिकने 2016 रिओ ऑलिंपिकमध्ये कांस्य पदकाच्या रूपाने दिले होते.
