Gautam Gambhir On Team India Coach|भारतीय क्रिकेट संघाला जुलै महिन्यात नवा मुख्य प्रशिक्षक (Team India New Head Coach) मिळणार आहे. टी20 विश्वचषकानंतर राहुल द्रविड यांचा कार्यकाळ समाप्त होणार असून, ते पुन्हा या पदासाठी अर्ज करणार नाहीत. अशात त्यांचा उत्तराधिकारी म्हणून गौतम गंभीर (Gautam Gambhir) याचे नाव चर्चेत आहे. मागील जवळपास पंधरा दिवसांपासून त्याच्या नावाची चर्चा असताना आता प्रथमच तो या मुद्द्यावर व्यक्त झाला.
भारतीय संघाचा मुख्य प्रशिक्षक होण्यासाठी अनेक माजी क्रिकेटपटूंनी रस दाखवला होता. तर रिकी पाँटिंग, जस्टिन लँगर व ऍंडी फ्लावर यांनी वैयक्तिक कारणाने या पदासाठी नकार दिला होता. अशात गौतम गंभीर याचे नाव पुढे आले. त्याचवेळी त्याच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली कोलकाता नाईट रायडर्स संघाने तिसऱ्यांदा आयपीएल ट्रॉफी जिंकली. त्यामुळे तो या पदाचा सर्वात मोठा दावेदार बनला. त्यानंतर आता एका कार्यक्रमात त्याला याविषयी विचारण्यात आले. तेव्हा बोलताना तो म्हणाला,
“मला भारतीय संघाचा प्रशिक्षक होण्यास नक्कीच आवडेल. ही अभिमानाची गोष्ट असेल की, तुम्ही आपल्या देशाच्या संघाचे प्रशिक्षक आहात. तुम्हाला 140 कोटी भारतीय तसेच जगभरातील इतर भारतीय चाहत्यांचे प्रतिनिधित्व करण्याची संधी मिळते हे भाग्य असते.”
गंभीर हा भारतीय संघाचा प्रशिक्षक बनण्याच्या अगदी जवळ आहे. त्याची केवळ औपचारिक घोषणा होणे बाकी असून, बीसीसीआय विश्वचषकानंतर याबाबत अधिकृत घोषणा करेल. एका आयपीएल संघ मालकाने याबाबतची बातमी विश्वसनीय सूत्रांना दिली होती. असे झाल्यास तो भारतीय संघाचा सलग चौथा भारतीय प्रशिक्षक बनेल.
