Story Of Saurabh Netratvalkar|टी20 विश्वचषक 2024 (T20 World Cup 2024) मध्ये गुरुवारी (6 जून) युएसए व पाकिस्तान (USAvPAK) यांच्या दरम्यान ऐतिहासिक सामना पाहायला मिळाला. यजमान आणि तुलनेने दुबळ्या समजल्या जाणाऱ्या यूएसए संघाने गतउपविजेत्या पाकिस्तानला पराभूत (USA Beat Pakistan) करण्याची करामत केली. सुपर ओव्हरपर्यंत गेलेल्या या सामन्यात अखेरच्या क्षणी युएसएच्या विजयाचा नायक वेगवान गोलंदाज सौरभ नेत्रावळकर (Saurabh Netratvalkar) ठरला. मराठमोळे नाव असलेल्या या खेळाडूची कहाणी देखील तितकीच जबरदस्त आहे.

मुख्य सामन्यात आधी चार षटकात 18 धावा देत दोन प्रमुख फलंदाज बाद केले होते. सुपर ओव्हरमध्ये देखील त्याला 19 धावांचा बचाव करायचा होता. इफ्तिखारने पहिल्या चेंडूवर चौकार ठोकूनही अत्यंत संयमीत राहत त्याने संघाला पाच धावांनी विजय मिळवून दिला. या विजयानंतर युएसएच्या खेळाडूंनी त्याला अक्षरशः खांद्यावर घेतले.
सौरभ नेत्रावळकर हा मूळचा मुंबईकर. डावखुरा वेगवान गोलंदाज असलेल्या सौरभ याने वयोगट क्रिकेटमध्ये धमाकेदार कामगिरी करत सर्वांचे लक्ष वेधून घेतले होते. त्याला ओळख मिळाली ती 2010 अंडर 19 वर्ल्डकपने. केएल राहुल याच्या नेतृत्वात भारतीय संघ या विश्वचषकात सहभागी झाला होता. त्यावेळी हर्षल पटेल, जयदेव उनाडकत व संदीप शर्मा या वेगवान गोलंदाजांसोबत चौथा वेगवान गोलंदाज होता सौरभ नेत्रावळकर. त्या वर्ल्डकपमध्ये त्याने नऊ विकेट्स घेतल्या. त्यावेळी देखील पाकिस्तानविरुद्ध त्याने बाबर आझम आणि मोहम्मद रिझवान ही जोडी गारद केलेली. वर्ल्डकप खेळून आल्यावर त्याला मुंबईसाठी रणजी खेळण्याचा देखील मोका मिळाला. विजय हजारे ट्रॉफीचा देखील एक सीजन त्याने मुंबईसाठी खेळला.
घरच्यांना क्रिकेट सोबतच त्याने चांगली नोकरी करावी अशी देखील अपेक्षा होती. 2014-2015 च्या सुमारास अमेरिकेत क्रिकेट चांगले सुरू झाले होते. याच काळात सौरभ मास्टर्स करण्यासाठी अमेरिकेत दाखल झाला. एका बाजूला शिक्षण आणि एका बाजूला क्रिकेट असे कष्ट तो घेत होता. कॉर्नल विद्यापीठातून मास्टर्स झाल्यानंतर तो नोकरीला लागला आणि क्रिकेट देखील त्याच पॅशनने खेळत होता. अखेर 2017-2018 मध्ये तो यूएसए संघासाठी खेळण्याकरिता पात्र झाला. इतकेच नव्हे तर पुढील वर्षभराच्या आत तो संघाचा कर्णधार देखील बनला. अमेरिका क्रिकेटच्या वेगवान गोलंदाजीचे नेतृत्व त्याने आपल्याकडे घेत अमेरिका क्रिकेटसाठी भरीव योगदान दिले. तो जवळपास चार वर्षे संघाचा कर्णधार राहिला. त्यानंतर आता वर्ल्डकपमध्ये सर्वात अनुभवी खेळाडू म्हणून तो अमेरिका संघासाठी आपली छाप पाडत आहे.
