रोहित आतापर्यंत या विश्वचषकात डाव्या हाताच्या वेगवान गोलंदाजांविरुद्ध तीन वेळा बाद झाला होता. यावेळी मात्र त्याने ही आपली कमजोरी नसल्याचे दाखवून दिले.
रोहितने यादरम्यान आपल्या टी20 कारकिर्दीतील सर्वात वेगवान अर्धशतक पूर्ण केले. तसेच, टी20 आंतरराष्ट्रीय मध्ये 200 षटकार पूर्ण केले. अशी कामगिरी करणारा तो जगातील पहिला फलंदाज ठरला.
