भारताविरुद्धच्या दुसऱ्या वनडे सामन्यात दक्षिण आफ्रिकेची कर्णधार लॉरा वोल्वार्डने नाणेफेक जिंकून प्रथम गोलंदाजी करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला होता. भारताकडून प्रथम फलंदाजी करताना सलामीवीर स्मृतीने १२० चेंडूत १३६ धावांची शानदार खेळी केली. या खेळीदरम्यान तिने २ खणखणीत षटकार आणि १८ चौकार मारले. चिन्नास्वामी स्टेडियमवर तसेच दक्षिण आफ्रिका महिला संघाविरुद्ध स्मृतीचे हे वनडेतील सलग दुसरे शतक होते. यापूर्वी पहिल्या वनडेत तिने ११७ धावा फटकावल्या होत्या. अशाप्रकारे सलग दोन वनडे शतके करत स्मृतीने इतिहास रचला आहे. भारतीय महिला क्रिकेटमध्ये सलग दोन वनडे शतके करणारी ती पहिली आणि एकमेव फलंदाज ठरली आहे.
