गयाना येथे झालेल्या या सामन्यात वेस्ट इंडिज संघाने प्रथम फलंदाजी स्वीकारली. गोलंदाजांना मदत करणाऱ्या खेळपट्टीवर वेस्ट इंडिजने सावध सुरुवात केली. किंग 13 धावा करून परतल्यावर पूरन 22 धावा करून बाद झाला. सलामीवीर जॉन्सन चार्ल्स याने 44 धावा केल्या. तर कर्णधार पॉवेल याने 22 धावांचे योगदान दिले. वेस्ट इंडिजच्या 15.3 षटकात केवळ 125 धावा झालेल्या असताना, आंद्रे रसेल याने 17 चेंडूंमध्ये 30 धावा करत संघाला 173 पर्यंत नेले. युगांडासाठी कर्णधार मसाबाने दोन बळी मिळवले.
या धावांचा पाठलाग करताना, युगांडाला दुसऱ्याच चेंडूवर धक्का बसला. या धक्क्यातून संघ सावरू शकला नाही. त्यांना प्रत्येक षटकात धक्का बसला. अकिल होसेन याने केवळ 11 षटकांत 5 बळी मिळवले. युगांडाचा संघ बारा षटकातच केवळ 39 धावांवर गारद झाला. ही टी20 विश्वचषकातील सर्वात निच्चांकी धावसंख्या ठरली.
