गुरुग्राम येथे शुक्रवारी (7 जून) एका स्थानिक क्लब सामन्यात खेळताना अभिषेक याने अक्षरशः धावांचा पाऊस पाडला. तिसऱ्या क्रमांकावर फलंदाजीला येताना त्याने फक्त 26 चेंडूंचा सामना खेळला. यामध्ये चार चौकार व तब्बल 14 षटकारांची आतिशबाजी करत त्याने 103 धावा कुटल्या. यादरम्यान त्याचा स्ट्राईक रेट 396 इतका जबरदस्त होता. सध्या अभिषेक दिल्ली व गुरुग्राम परिसरात अनेक स्थानिक सामन्यांमध्ये खेळताना दिसतो.

नुकत्याच संपलेल्या आयपीएल 2024 मध्ये अभिषेक शर्मा यांनी तुफानी फटकेबाजी करत सनरायझर्स हैदराबाद संघाला अंतिम सामन्यापर्यंत नेले होते. त्याने या हंगामात 16 सामन्यात 484 धावा केल्या होत्या. यामध्ये त्याचा स्ट्राईक रेट 204 इतका प्रभावी राहिलेला. तसेच हंगामात सर्वाधिक 42 षटकार मारण्याची कामगिरी त्याने केली होती. विशेष म्हणजे त्याने एकदाही 30 चेंडूंचा सामना केला नव्हता.
