नॅसॉ काऊंटी इंटरनॅशनल स्टेडियम (Nassau County International Cricket Stadium) न्यूयॉर्क येथे झालेल्या या सामन्यात भारताने नाणेफेक जिंकून प्रथम गोलंदाजीचा निर्णय घेतला. अर्शदीपने पहिल्याच चेंडूवर शायन जहांगीर याला बात केले. तर त्याच षटकातील शेवटच्या चेंडूवर गौसला हार्दिकच्या हाती झेल द्यायला भाग पाडले. त्यानंतर कर्णधार जोन्स (11) व टेलर (24) यांनी भागीदारी करत सामन्यात पुनरागमन केले. ते दोघे बाद झाल्यानंतर नितीश कुमार याने महत्त्वपूर्ण 27 धावा केल्या. तळाच्या फलंदाजांनी देखील उपयुक्त योगदान देत संघाला 110 पर्यंत नेले. भारतासाठी अर्शदीप सिंग याने 4 तर हर्दिक पंड्या याने 2 बळी टिपले.
या धावांचा पाठलाग करताना भारताला देखील पहिल्या षटकात विराट कोहलीच्या रूपाने पहिला धक्का बसला. तो खातेही खोलू शकला नाही. तर तिसऱ्या षटकात कर्णधार रोहित शर्मा देखील वाद झाला. त्या दोघांनाही सौरभ नेत्रावळकर याने बाद केले. रिषभ पंत हा 18 धावा करून अली खानचा शिकार ठरला. भारतीय संघ संकटात आल्यानंतर दोन मुंबईकर सूर्यकुमार यादव (50) व शिवम दुबे (31) यांनी जबाबदारी खांद्यावर घेतली. त्यांनी अखेरपर्यंत नाबाद राहत संयमी भागीदारी करताना संघाला विजय मिळवून दिला. चार बळी घेणाऱ्या अर्शदीप सिंग याला सामनावीर पुरस्कार दिला गेला.
